Dewalt recently sent out press information about the new ToughSystem 2.0 jobsite radio and charger (DWST08820), and it turns out that this is actually the first product of a revamped ToughSystem 2.0 modular tool box lineup.
That’s right, Dewalt is soon “relaunching” their ToughSystem tool box lineup.
Here’s what they said about it:
[The new jobsite radio is] the first product in an upcoming relaunch of the original ToughSystem product line, first announced in 2011. More information will be available on the rest of the line in early 2020.
What do we know about the new Dewalt ToughSystem 2.0 tool boxes? Zilch, zero, nada. Well, that’s not exactly true. From the looks of the new Bluetooth jobsite music player, Dewalt ToughSystem 2.0 boxes *should* be fully compatible with the existing ToughSystem tool boxes and accessories.
Do you think that the new Dewalt ToughSystem tool boxes will borrow some features from Milwaukee’s Packout tool storage lineup?
What kinds of changes would you hope to see in the “relaunched” Dewalt ToughSystem tool box line?
It’s not unusual for tool brands to refresh their modular tool box system. Festool refreshed their Systainers (and again recently), Bosch has done it with L-Boxxes, and Sortainer recently refreshed their T-Boxxes (to my dissatisfaction).
It’ll be interesting to see what changes Dewalt has in store for their ToughSystem tool box system.
