Dewalt has launched new compact steel tool boxes. Measuring 15.35″ wide x 10.4″ deep x 13.19″ tall, these aren’t as small as the mini tool boxes that have been trending for the holidays, but they also aren’t as large as you might think.
The tool boxes feature a top carry handle and two latches on the bottom to keep the lid in place during transport.
Inside, there is a single cutout for a power tool – such as a cordless drill or driver – a tool shelf with holes for ratchets and screwdrivers, pegs for sockets, and two open spaces for other tools and supplies.
The front edge folds down to make it easier for users to access tools or parts in the bottom compartments, and there’s a central lid support to help keep the top open.
According to the product description, the latches are lockable, and the tool boxes have an empty weight of 50 lbs. Correction: Acme’s description is wrong, Montezuma says they weigh 14.33 lbs empty and have a load capacity of 50 lbs.
There are two color options, black (DXTB15BB) and yellow (DXTB15BY), and both Dewalt tool boxes are described as being made in the USA. For some reason the black version costs a few dollars more than the yellow.
