Milwaukee 60 inch Mobile Workcenter with Pegboard

Last week we gave you a quick first look at the new Milwaukee 60″ mobile work center, model 48-22-8560. We’ve gathered some more info, and to be frank the new mobile tool storage and work center seems even more appealing.

To start, here are the dimensions: 38.2″ tall, 24.4″ deep, 69.2″ wide.

In the teaser post, someone commented that they hoped it wasn’t just 18″ deep. It’s not. The worktop is 22″ deep.

The worksurface is 1-inch thick, made from hardwood, and is reversible. After you’ve put the work center through plenty of use and abuse, you can flip the worksurface.

Milwaukee Work Center Tool Holder

The Milwaukee work center has oodles of tool holder and organizational options. There’s a tool holder, shown here with common hand tools, a side shelf that can be positioned at different heights, and a full-width pegboard.

The pegboard is adjustable, and can be used at mid-height or full-height, with locking thumb screws holding it securely in place. It also comes with brackets and mounting brackets for more secure permanent placement.

Milwaukee Work Center Tool Cabinet

A lockable cabinet with adjustable shelf allows you to store taller tools and supplies than would fit elsewhere.

Milwaukee Work Center Deep Drawer for Power Tools

A large deep drawer with vertical divider creates places for your larger power tools.

Milwaukee Work Center Drill and Driver Tool Holder

There’s also another deep drawer with a tool holder size for drills, drivers, and impact wrenches.

First Thoughts

As far as mobile tool cabinets go, this one is pretty different. It’s choc-full of enhancements and decent specs, at a reasonable price.

I like that there are two half-width drawers, although I know some would rather have a full-width drawer.

The cabinet seems useful, and although I would rather see more shallow drawers, I already know what kinds of tools I would toss into the work center’s deep drawers.

The worktop is pretty spacious, and deeper than I expected. 22″ deep, and around 60″ wide? Nice!

At this price, I don’t think I would have expected a 1″ hardwood top. It’s also nice to know that it’s reversible.

Milwaukee says that the 60″ mobile tool cabinet is made with a reinforced angle iron frame for ultimate durability.

They also say that the tool cabinet was designed with the function and organization options that professional users need every day. I’m not sure that this will be used in professional settings, but they’re definitely going to sell a whole lot of them.

To sum it up, you get 11 drawers, a cabinet, a 22″ multi-position metal pegboard, a tool holder, shelf, mounting position for an M18/M12 battery charger, and internal organization for the deeper drawers. Plus that 22″ deep reversible worktop.

All this, for just $600. What’s the catch? Surely there must be a catch, right? I’m not seeing it through the drool.
