Over at Home Depot, there’s a brand new Dewalt 20V Max 7-tool cordless combo kit, model DCK720D2. This could mean several things, but what I’m guessing is that this will be a Deal of the Day this week or next.
Last year, the Black Friday deal of the day was a Dewalt 20V Max 9pc cordless combo kit for $499.
This new 7-tool cordless combo kit is a bit different. It swaps in the regular DCD780 compact brushed motor drill instead of the DCD771 “holiday season” model, and you lose the brushless oscillating multi-tool and right angle drill.

Right now, this combo kit is on sale for $599, which they say is $100 off the regular price of $699.
The circular saw and reciprocating saw are the standard non-premium combo kit models.
So, let’s play a game. Sorry, no prizes.
Imagine that Home Depot puts this up as a Deal of the Day. What do you think the price will be?
Last year’s 9-tool combo was $499.
With all that in mind, I’m going to guess $399 for this 7-tool combo. If the kit came with the same holiday season-focused DCD771, I’d guess a price of $349.
I kind of wish they would have bundled this kit with one 2.0Ah battery pack, and one 4.0Ah battery pack. It’s got a circular saw reciprocating saw, and angle grinder. A 2.0Ah battery can power any of those tools, but a higher capacity battery pack would be better. I guess it leads to strong expansion potential.
What’s your prediction?
Would you buy this combo kit for $399?
